Theres a few people on here that run their own wide format printers. I usually do stickers for redditors at half the price stickermule charges - However being in the UK it may not be worth it to you....though with our exchange rate so crappy, shipping isnt bad - it's mainly it'll take a week or two to get to you.
As for your color issues - Design in CMYK. Use Pantone colors wherever you can... Find a shop that does color calibration. Most sign shops will. CMYK printers are limited in color Gamut... So if you're trying to print a gold or a color that it cant hit, it may come out lighter or darker... It's unfortunately just how it is. You'll have better luck going with a vendor who does color calibrations though... Most sticker shops are just there for cheap quick stickers and don't care about color. Screen print shops, sign shops, and a lot of wide format shops care more about color consistancy... Sometimes theyre a bit pricier, but as I said... theres a few of us on reddit who sell for cheap just because printing some stickers after work is a lot more fun than printing street signs!
